Hi,
I tried to add myself to the CC: list of bug #53003, as I want to file a bug report and patch that should close #53003 as duplicate, but I get the error:
You tried to change the component field from AfterStep-APPS to initscripts, but only the owner or submitter of the bug, or a sufficiently empowered user, may change that field.
What's funny about this is that the component is already set to initscripts.
Bye, Leonard.

That's an old bug - I had it several times last year, never reported it though. Please open a bugzilla bug.
Regards,

It's a bug in your web browser. At least according to Dave Lawrence our bugzilla maintainer. Search bugzilla for bugs that have already been reported about this, including closed bugs. You'll probably find something.
Hope this helps.

I doubt that. Where would the "AfterSteps-APPS" component come from? Above bug #53003 is about "initscripts" _already_ when that bug is triggered.

Hello Nicolas,

Might you remember bug #s where this happened to you? So I can verify them and add them to the bug report. TIA.
And to Mike, no, this is not a browser bug. How would my browser come up with AfterSteps-APPS? Plus verified in mozilla and konqueror.
Bye, Leonard.

I'm sorry I don't remember exactly. These were all cases when I didn't care enough about the bugs to fight the system.

I suppose this is js land with a nice component list somewhere.
Cheers,

Any idea of the component and the bug number range?

Nope. Stripped out any reference to AfterStep from the js in a locally saved version (any component but 3), set the form action with an absolute url and committed, still the same error.
If it were a browser bug in js it would suggest Mozilla and Konqueror are using similar js engine code (or repeating the same bugs).
Bye, Leonard.

None at all ;(. It did happen to me often enough last year I know exactly what you're talking about (query, find related bug, try to add a comment, and bugzilla complains you tried to reassign to Afterstep)
