from a "do everything with 100% FOSS" perspective, it's considerably
less expensive and people-resource-consuming than many alternatives.
With a SOP for these recordings, it's relatively easy for one person
in each room to set up such a stream with a webcam-equipped laptop.
Again, I think this was what happened at Flock '13, and it went pretty
darned well.
Requires the laptops of course, so I guess this is a followup question
whether we have access to them.
We're still waiting to hear on the status of available AV resources at
the university. We no longer have easy access to that laptop pool, so
we'd need to start scraping things together if we're doing that again.
Honestly, I wonder if it is worth the trouble. I don't think these
videos are getting many hits (and almost no one watched them live last
year).
