To be fair, we *do* have ~6+ weeks before the meeting would actually
occur. There seemed to be a vague sense of urgency to booking rooms
before they ran out, so it seems reasonable to book the room and maybe
figure out some of the details later (especially since the full schedule
isn't out since it's under constructions and folks haven't planned out
where they will be at what time yet.)
I was in an argument for over an hour with a guy in my neighborhood on
our town Facebook group - he called me an idiot and 'unbelievably
ignorant' for believing that raccoons carry rabies. (Sorry dude, but
they do, and they are the most common carriers in North America!) It got
really heated, and mean. Over a fucking raccoon. The group admins ended
up having to delete the thread. I ended up blocking the guy and will
probably avoid him in person should I ever happen to run into him,
because I hold grudges.
We haven't gotten that bad yet here, but let's assume good intentions,
please? I think everyone in this subthread does have a reasonable point
but could pose them in kinder terms.
Let's not end up hating each other over raccoons.
