I'm getting a number of "Hey, I missed the deadline, but I
just thought
of _____", where ____ isn't always a terrible idea. Allowing these in
past the deadline seems like it's inviting more late submissions next
year. And a deadline extension seems similar.
Vaguely related side note: when are we marking the CFP period as closed on the site?
The front page still says that the CFP is open, but the actual registration section
doesn't
let you propose talks, which is a bit confusing -- I had someone that tried to submit a
talk
ask me about this earlier today.
What if we had a room reserved (except during plenary sessions) for
last-minute write-ins on a first-come, first-served basis?
Agreed that a "first-come, first-serve" space is probably a decent way to handle
this.

Solly
