That is, employers read "speaking at conference" as different from
"going to a conference" -- the first is clearly _work_, while the
second is suspiciously close to _fun_. I think we could attack this in
a different way, rather than making everyone speakers. Perhaps we can
offer official, personalized letters of invitation to _participate_ for
active contributors.
