Those are just symlinks. No different from a so bump. You don’t write change
pages for so bumps.
The new packaging spent half a year in public review, first in copr, then
FPC-side (4 months). It was announced multiple times on the devel list.
It was (and still is) an insane amount of work. Reading arcane OpenType and CSS
specification pages, reviewing and fixing hundreds of font files, almost an
hundred specs, tens of thousands of fontconfig lines, pages of badly mangled
asciidoc, code in rpm, shell, lua and python, appstream spec, etc.
You’re bikeshedding here because the amount of side-effects seen from your side
are trivial enough you feel the whole thing is unnecessary / gratuitous.
