I will take care of this. 1.4.0 also was not built -- I will contact
upstream.

Nightly Rawhide LiveCD script
by Warren Togami
Somebody asked for my crappy script to generate a rawhide LiveCD that
can be scheduled in cron. This script sucks. Suggest improvements if
you want.
One big improvement that could be written is a rawhide timestamp
checker, so the script would run more often in cron and detect when the
rawhide tree had actually changed, and only then generate new images.
Otherwise you can only schedule it daily and generate images of whatever
happens to be in rawhide at that moment, even if it hasn't changed since
the previous day or rawhide compose hasn't finished yet.

Fedora Packaging Committee Seat Filled
by Tom Callaway
Thanks to everyone who applied for this open seat. We got a lot of very
qualified individuals who were interested in filling the open seat on
the Fedora Packaging Committee. After much
discussion and thought, I've asked Jon Ciesla to fill the open seat and
he has accepted.
I'm sure that we will have additional openings on the FPC in the future,
as people move on to other tasks, or get committed to various mental
institutions. ;) Please feel free to throw your name in the ring for
future openings!
A few points that I felt might be worth making:
* If you're not an active package maintainer in Fedora, it definitely
hurts your chances of being on the FPC, as we're always looking for
people who are intimately involved with Fedora packaging.
* If you haven't done many Fedora Package Reviews, it's a great way to
increase your visibility in the Fedora Packaging Community space, and
also is a good way to show us that you have a solid understanding of the
existing Fedora Packaging Guidelines. Plus, it helps us get new packages
into Fedora!
Thanks again to all who applied,
~spot

Wednesday special session FESCo meeting
by Jon Stanley
I've heard back from a few of the FESCo members, and it looks like
we're going to do a special session on Wednesday at 17:00UTC in
#fedora-meeting in order to knock out a few last features for Fedora
12.
I just wanted to drop a note saying that it was happening, the agenda
is still dynamic right now, so anything that I sent out would surely
be stale by the time of the meeting. I'll probably send out a full
agenda tomorrow after work (US/Eastern). You can follow the current
agenda real time at https://fedorahosted.org/fesco/report/9 as always.

Please check out CVS module before committing your change.
You have reverted the changes by Scott Seago to fix bug 496480.
Especially please be very careful when using cvs-import.sh as using
cvs-import.sh will easily lead to this type of reverting.

Firewall rules using SELinux context (Was Re: RFE: FireKit)
by Casey Dahlin
A couple of mentions of SELinux have cropped up in the FireKit thread, which got me thinking about the Firewall and SELinux and ways in which they are similar. I had the following thought:
SELinux already has a lot of policy information from which we might like to determine whether ports should be open to a particular program. The simplest mechanism I can see for doing that is to allow SELinux context to be referenced in the firewall rules. This prevents either system from having to be grotesquely modified.
An example rule might look like this:
-A INPUT -Z apache_t -j ACCEPT
Here we tell the firewall to allow incoming traffic that will be intercepted in userspace by a process in the apache_t context.
This does break in at least one way from traditional SELinux policy: something external to SELinux is interpreting the meaning of the context. The firewall rules can change while the actual SELinux policy stays put. I don't know how serious a problem that is (if it is one).
Thoughts?
