It should not be. In an environment using single sign on systems, ldap,
NIS
or yellow pages it makes no sense.
Secondly the security argument here is simply peeing in the wind as you

hit ctrl-alt-f1 and log in as root on a text console.
Can this information be included on the login screen, somewhere small and
discreet, like in faded text on the bottom left or something? I was
unaware of it and would have found it useful one evening some time ago.
