IMHO, retiring a Fedora package in favor of an upstream binary of
whatever
kind (Flatpak, Snap, AppImage, RPM, binary tarball, whatever) is a major
disservice to Fedora users and defeats the whole point of having a
distribution to begin with.
How is an orphan package a good service to users? It will just become outdated and degrade
over time. I think it is far more responsible, and respectful of users, to accept that
some packages are better maintained elsewhere.
