When I said "at least" I meant "at most".
If you installed multiple OSes and noticed that the boot menu is
gone,
wouldn't pressing these keys be your natural reaction anyway?
With a sample size of one, apparently the answer is yes except for Esc which I did not
think to try, yet is the only key GRUB responds to. Documentation says "any
key". I've filed a bug.
