OK I found
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Releases/29/ChangeSet#Tracking_15
Which is pointing to
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1551327 .. which is
pointing to
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/Remove_GCC_from_BuildRoot
than this page points back to Biugzilla ticket.
If it was somewhere approved (I'm sure that somehow it was) because it
is so little possible to find about real discussion about proposal ..
I'm not sure did anyone from FESCo where really aware what they are
approving and/or did anyone where aware that some alternative
proposals have been send but generally not commented/ignored.
As for all Changes, this one was posted to this very list:
https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/devel@lists.fedoraproject.o...
a 36 post long thread in Feb.
You posted the idea to it of now using "gcc" but some macro, but the
change owner and at least one other person replied and didn't feel it
was worthwhile as we have no plans to move away from gcc.
It was approved by fesco in the ticket at:
https://pagure.io/fesco/issue/1851
