Ah! In that case, yes, Ubuntu is an operating system. Fedora is also an
operating system. Both Ubuntu and Fedora are distributions of the GNU
operating system and the Linux kernel. Both distros have different default
configurations for both the userland and the kernel, and both distros patch
the kernel provided with their own changes.
