Hmmm. I think I don't consider it duplicated information. A commit
messages in the VCS afaics is something that is written for other
developers that want to understand/track changes (now or in the future).
The intent of the changelog OTOH "is to give the user a hint as to what
changed in a package update" (quote from
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:Guidelines#Changelogs ).
IOW: Different target audiences. And that's why the messages [c|sh]ould
differ. But they often don't. But maybe that's just us being lazy? (yes,
I'm guilty in this regard ;-) )
