Please stop it, both of you.
There are great usecases for applications and libraries being included
in a distribution. That is why Fedora (and every other distribution)
exists in the first place. There are ALSO usecases for shipping
containerized applications.
Yes exactly those are not mutually exclusive. There is always a need
for self contained applications.
Having something in the OS that works, is well designed and integrated
only has a net benefit instead
of having upstreams come up with their own solutions (installers,
tarballs and what not).
