Tracking new review requests?

Hello,

I'd like to be notified about new Fedora package review requests by mail, only 
once.  I'm currently subscribed to fedora-package-review which is otherwise 
fine, except that I receive all of the review mail and not only the first 
mail sent when a new review request is submitted.

I suppose I could set up a filter that gets the mails I'm not usually 
interested out of the way, but I'd rather not receive anything but the first 
one in the first place (unless I'm submitter/reviewer/cc'd of course, but 
that's handled by direct mails).

Would it be possible to add a mailman topic to fedora-package-review that 
receives only new submissions?  I don't know how mailman topics are 
configured, but I suppose these can be detected by matching "New: " at the 
beginning of the subject.  Any other solutions?

Not sure how well this works, but maybe you could subscribe to the
search results page as a feed:

Thanks, I'll try something like this out.  But I'd still prefer a mail

You can get mail for RSS Feeds with rss2email[0], which is  packaged in 
Fedora. But I do not know how readable the RSS feed from Bugzilla is.

Hm, could be useful in some scenarios, but sounds too clumsy to me for this 
purpose.

Don't know about readability, but after one day of testing it, the feed from 
the query seems useless for my purposes - I got 4 new RSS entries today, none 
of which were new package submissions (I don't know why they were included in 
the first place).  There were at least 3 new package submissions today, none 
of which ended up in the feed as new items.

The gmane topics with excerpts feed looks more promising.

May be this is more easy make on user side? I read fedora-package-review 
in Thunderbird through nntp protocol (over gmane) and free set up any 
filters with all power of a filters what thunderbird does (and/or logic, 
any part of message and few actions like skip thread etc.)

Thanks for the suggestion, but I use kmail which unfortunately does not have 
support for NNTP (or RSS) as far as I know, so this is not an option.  Nor is 
using a different mail client or a dedicated NNTP reader only for this 
purpose, and I'm not planning to switch completely away from kmail either...

Well, there's KNode for this purpose. I use it for all the mailing lists, it
works great. :-)

You can also use Kontact which gives you KMail and KNode in the same window.

Thanks for the suggestions, but both knode and kontact are apps I don't 
already use and I really want to avoid starting using any new ones for this 
purpose.
