[Test-Announce] Fedora 17 Final Release Candidate 2 (RC2) Available Now!

As per the Fedora 17 schedule [1], Fedora 17 Final Release Candidate 2
(RC2) is now available for testing. Content information, including
changes, can be found at https://fedorahosted.org/rel-eng/ticket/5196 .
Please see the following pages for download links (including delta ISOs)
and testing instructions. Normally dl.fedoraproject.org should provide
the fastest download, but download-ib01.fedoraproject.org is available
as a mirror (with an approximately 1 hour lag) in case of trouble. To
use it, just replace "dl" with "download-ib01" in the download URL.

After having this installed, is it adequate, or acceptable, to ask what
kind of information you want? Is it adequate to offer that I am prevented
from installing software in the add/remove software (market)? Those that I
attempted thus far to install consisted of Libra-office and Thunderbird
software, and am not able to install anything except for Google Chrome.

An update since the email below: This market still doesn't work, however
yum works very well; yum may be a challenge for those users who are not
teckies, and don't know how to use the command line as well as seasoned
users, especially since we/you give the users access to this market, for
lack of a better term.

Also, I find that scrolling is a problem with some programs on this
computer. In said programs, such as Nautilus, on this portable unit, when
sliding my index down the side of the mouse-square, I am taken immediately
to the bottom of the folder. I have to grab the scroll-bar with the
mouse-button, which can be slightly annoying.

Are you sure you tested RC2 not RC1? It sounds kinda like
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=794927 , which was in RC1
but fixed in RC2. What exactly happens when you try to install anything?

Try using PK again. If it works now, you were probably hitting that bug.
With that bug, once yum has imported the necessary gpg key, PK will work
fine.

I may know better next time an RC comes out than to bring these up, it is
probably better that I wait until the next RC: I am having issues with the
curser / mouse on this computer and I think I might prevented from viewing
the shows at http://www.thecomedynetwork.ca/ in Canada. If I had helped the
community out earlier, I may not ignorantly feel the need to bring up
whether these glitches will be fixed in the following release.

You'd need to be much more specific about that. What's the problem

That's more likely to be a bug at the remote end than anything, and even
if it's a bug in Fedora, more likely to be an upstream browser bug than
a Fedora bug, and even if it were a Fedora bug would not be considered
serious enough to be a release blocker. See the
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_Release_Criteria for the kind of
stuff we care about at release time.

The issue has mainly to do with scrolling, and more generally to do with
the mouse-curser going following my finger, rather than bouncing all over
the screen. The latter may have more to do with the age of this computer.
