What does tcpschedulerfailed mean?
by Dan Track
Hi All,
Can someone please help me find information regarding the following
field in "netstat -S" output, the entry in question is
TCPSchedulerFailed?
I've googled it but can't find any useful info regarding it. A few
questions around it:
1. What does it measure?
2. What is the TCP mechanism is it monitoring?
3. Is there some other measure I should take into consideration from
netstat to give it some meaning?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Fedora 16 test
by Roger
I just spent this evening playing with the Fedora 16 live iso on a dvd.
Wow!
I find the gui very easy to understand and use, don't like the huge
glunky icons though!
Shutdown is simple - <alt> click.
It found my Fuji Xerox laser printer by it'self, I've not had a Linux
install do that for a long tme, always been a manual search and install!
It printed pdf files, something that Ubuntu hasn't done on my pc for a
very long time.
The Hard drive manager is great.
Nouveau video driver works well with the Nvidia gtx8600 card- haven't
tried Blender3d yet though.
Fedora 14 Virtual Box locks up the computer if I try to install Fedora
16, nothing works.
Hard drive installation tool seems very neat and easy to use, as usual.
Just a couple of questions about clean installing over Fedora 14.
Is there an option for it to not overwrite the home and /var/www/html
directories?
Don't like the font rendering, pretty glunky with Bitstream charter and
the default font. Is there a way to improve font rendering?
Are there any gotchas to look out for.
Thanks fedora, good job

You should move the contents of /var/www/html to somewhere else (backup)
or onto /home.
Presuming /home is a separate partition, when the install reaches the
'deal with the hard drive' section, choose 'Custom Layout'. You can then
choose which partitions to format *or not format* as desired.
But you will be unable to change the sizes and layouts of any of your
other partitions. If you need or want to do that, the only safe route is
to backup what you want to save and create your new disk layout with
gparted outside of the installer, or use 'Custom Layout'. Note that
anaconda likes to re-number your partitions as you create new ones,
which can be very annoying. I have never been able to figure out the
logic to its re-numbering. So I use gparted together with 'sfdisk -uS
-l' to create and ensure that the partitions are aligned on 2048 sector
boundaries.

IPv6 tunnel doesn't start on boot
by Juan Orti Alcaine
Hello, I have configured a IPv6-in-IPv4 tunnel with tunnelbroker.net as
seen here:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_setup_tunnel_broker_via_Hurricane_El...
It works well, but I can't make it to start at boot although it has the
option ONBOOT=yes. Is this normal? Maybe it needs NetworkManager to
start the real interface before bring this online, but I doubt it. Any
help? or do I fill a bug report?
Also, I would like to control the radvd daemon when the interface goes
up or down. But as I have seen, the option IPV6_CONTROL_RADVD only is in
effect with 6to4 tunnels because of a limitation of the init scripts.
Are there any workaround for this?
I think there is space for improvement here, NetworkManager should take
care of this.
Any advice is welcome.
Thank you.

Dumb question: do you have networking service enabled? Sorry for top-posting, I'm using cellphone to post to the list. Here's my /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-sit1 config:
DEVICE=sit1
BOOTPROTO=none
ONBOOT=yes
IPV6INIT=yes
IPV6TUNNELIPV4=64.62.134.130
IPV6ADDR=2001:470:eda::2/64
NM_CONTROLLED=no
DNS1=2001:470:20::2
DNS2=74.82.42.42
additionally i have in my /etc/sysconfig/network
IPV6_CONTROL_RADVD=yes
IPV6_DEFAULTDEV=sit1
IPV6INIT=yes
IPV6FORWARDING=yes
it works for me.
also try
systemctl enable network.service
just to make sure that the network service is set to run on boot in systemd

"Printers" vs. "Printing"...?
by Christopher A Williams
There's some real confusion I've noticed in F16 (also present in F15)
regarding printer setup. In the System Settings applet, there is a
section on printers which includes the ability to add printers.
...Except that applet is completely and total incapable of adding any
kind of network printer. It complains about FirewallD not running, and
several other other settings missing. If you install FirewallD, things
on F16 x64 totally break. I almost destroyed 2 different machines
yesterday because of this stupid applet.
Then there is the other "Printing" application, aka the old, tried and
true "system-config-printer" application. It's much better hidden and
not well placed (the "Other" category - really??? shouldn't this be in
"System Tools") except that you have to know it's there. This
application DOES work to let you set up both local and network printers.
It also notices several (of the same) settings not properly set, but
then offers to "fix" this for you. One mouse-click and it's done.
So why is it that the one which DOESN'T work made to be easier to find,
and to potentially screw up the machine, than the one that does work?
And why are both still there? Isn't this what we would call a usability
disaster? No...?
