Bluetooth 4.0 support - for Fitbit

I am reading the Fitbit Unix thread on their forum. The latest Fitbit
base use Bluetooth 4.0 and it seems this is a problem with some of the
people on the list (and they don't say which distro they are working with).
So is Bluetooth 4.0 support in f17? And if not is it in f18?
Also it seems that Python 2 is used not Python 3 with warnings to
install the script in the Python 2 tree. Is this an issue or how is it
done in Fedora?

Transfering files to a Samsung Galaxy III

I just got a Galaxy for my corporate phone. No instructions; Samsung
GUI is taking a lot to learn, coming from a BB and Gnome! My first touch
screen...
Anyway, I have mp4 lessons on this system that I would want to view on
the Galaxy. Is there any 'eazy' way to do this? I plug the Galaxy into
my notebook and it only goes into charging mode.

Fitbit on Fedora via Wine?

Has anyone tried the Fitbit application on Fedora via Wine?
It uses Bluetooth to sync up then some port or other to communicate with
hosting app.
I got the Fitbit zip as an accessory for my Galaxy, only to find out
that the Android app is not ready yet!
I currently don't have Wine installed, but this COULD be an incentive to
do that...

Browser problem

I have Fedora 16 with Firefox, Thunderbird and chromium browser,
everything worked until this morning.
For some reason Chromium fails to load giving the "aw Snap" error
message, it won't even load localhost.
What can be done to resolve and get chromium up again. It's never done
this before.
Help much appreciated

where is gamma4scanimage?

scanimage should come with gamma4scanimage but it does not.
yum provides gamma4scanimage and yum search gamma4scanimage give nothing.
Where can I find gamma4scanimage for F17?

Search function will not find recent files

The search function on the windows screen? only finds apps, not also
recent files. In my old f16 install this worked fine. Of course I had
so many Gnome extensions that I could no longer tell what was original
and what was extended.
So here on f17, how do I get the search to also search on recent files?

Bonjour,
I installed f-17 and wanted to set my mail with thunderbird.
New account, name, mail address, smtp.... *immediately* thunderbird
helper goes on the web to check my email server and don't find it! Why?
I really don't know: this mail address and server has been in service
for years now (and I'm using it to send this mail).... I can ping it, I
can dig it...
And now, I am stuck: I cannot have my mail because thunderbird try to
help me, as if I was so stupid that I cannot know my own email address!
I really don't understand what is the goal of this kind of help, even if
I make a mistake while I give my emeil server address, doomsday won't come!
The result is: I cannot configure my mail because someone has thought
that this automatic check will help people. Stupid!

Epson Stylus SX525WD: scanner resolution can only be 75, 300, 1200 and 2400

I have F17 installed (3.6.9-2.fc17.x86_64).
I installed the Epson driver for my printer from http://download.ebz.epson.net/:
yum install epson-inkjet-printer-workforce-635-nx625-series-1.0.1-1lsb3.2.rpm
yum install iscan-data-1.15.0-1.noarch.rpm
yum install iscan-2.28.1-3.ltdl7.rpm
1. the scanner works only on a USB2 port, not on a USB3 port, why?
2. with xsane, I have access to the following resolutions only: 75,
150 300, 600, 1200, 2400, with scanimage: 75, 300, 1200, 2400.
Why is it not the same list?
How can I have access to more values as with the Windows tool where I
could select whatever value I wanted?
