Hi, list!
I've been trying to learn networks. In the book I'm using they use
Ethereal programm along side with tcpdump to catch packets. I already
have tcpdump installed. Yum shows me that Ethereal is provided by
wireshark package that's also installed:
$ yum provides ethereal
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, presto, refresh-packagekit, show-leaves
wireshark-1.2.2-1.fc12.i686 : Network traffic analyzer
Repo : fedora
Matched from:
Other : ethereal
wireshark-1.2.11-1.fc12.i686 : Network traffic analyzer
Repo : updates
Matched from:
Other : ethereal
wireshark-1.2.11-1.fc12.i686 : Network traffic analyzer
Repo : installed
Matched from:
Other : Provides-match: ethereal
However if I try to run 'ethereal' command I've got:
$ ethereal
-bash: ethereal: command not found
So, my question is how to use it?
TIA

Spandex is a privilege, not a right.
"Wireshark is a free and open-source packet analyzer. It is used for
network troubleshooting, analysis, software and communications protocol
development, and education. Originally named Ethereal, in May 2006 the
project was renamed Wireshark due to trademark issues." ~wikipedia
use Wireshark :)
