Dual monitor control lost after upgrading to 25

Hi all,

Just upgraded to 25. The upgrade went very well but I can't seem to control
my monitors anymore. The Displays widget shows 'could not get screen
information'. Graphics in Details (which I believe to be accurate) are:

Gallium 0.4 on AMD CEDAR (DRM 2.46.0 / 4.8.15-300.fc25.x86_64, LLVM 3.8.0).

All I truly need to do is adjust the refresh and invert the monitors
left/right right/left (for now). Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

You don't say what Desktop you're using or the video hardware.

I have a problem under KDE with a monitor not always turning on after going into stand-by
mode.  I could do various things in KDE's system-settings to get it back but it was a
pain.  I ended up using a few xrandr commands to get it back.

So, short story made long, maybe using the right xrandr incantation would do what you
need.

The card is a low end Radeon 5450 chip. I have one monitor in VGA and the
other in DVI. If you need more I can give you the lspci?

I'm using GNOME. Try a GNOME classic and xorg to no avail as well.

Okay so let me ask this then. Does anybody know how I would change how I
scroll from one screen to another in Xrandr? Currently, I must access my
left screen by exiting my right screen to the right (and left on my left).

You need to issue the xrandr command to position your monitor.

For example....  My configuration has 2 active outputs...

HDMI-0 connected primary
DP-1 connected

The monitor on DataPort1 sits on my desk to the right of the monitor on HDMI-0.  So, to
get the correct orientation I use...

xrandr --output DP-1 --right-of HDMI-0 --auto

I get zero return and nothing changes on the screens. Mine active
screens are listed as XWAYLAND1 & XWAYLAND0 if that helps?

Ahh, OK....  You are using "Wayland" and not "Xorg".

I run KDE with Xorg and have no experience with Wayland.  It may be that xrandr isn't
appropriate for use in Wayland.

I googled "wayland xrandr" and the results didn't appear promising.  (Rather
late in the
day for me....and a Friday  :-)  )  As I saw comments like "xrandr is read-only with
Wayland".

I believe you may be using GNOME.  If so, I'd try logging out and logging back in
with
GNOME under Xorg instead of the default which is now Wayland.

Two additional things....

1.  If you want to stick with Wayland you could always try swapping the cables at the
video card output.  :-)

2.  I am not Zachary.  That is part of my .signature and is in reference to actions taken
in response to pirated Star Trek links being posted.  :-)
