FC 12 NOT BOOTING

FC 12  is not booting.It shows error as follows:
"                        FAILED
An error occured during the file system check.
Dropping you to a shell ;the system will reboot when you leave the shell.
Give root password for maintenance(or type control D to continue):-

when root password was typed,it shows as follows:
bash:cannot set terminal process group(-1):inappropriate ioctl for device
bash: no job control in this shell(Repair filesystem)1# -


how can it be booted successfully and enter into it?
tried many times but failed.please give suggestions

at the prompt type:

shell(Repair filesystem)#  fsck -y

Wait.
When complete type:

shell(Repair filesystem)# reboot

Your system should reboot and come up normally.

if you have the install dvd you could boot into recovery mode and try
repairing (fsck) the disk,

or

if its a non critical filesystem, just commenting it out in the
/etc/fstab and rebooting.
