As a possible workaround, you could go here
https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=1235436
and get the last src.rpm that built successfully, and build it on your
system using rpmbuild.  If it has build requires that aren't met, you
will have to build and install them first, using the same process.  It
might be that the package is not compatible with changes in an API or
ABI in later Fedoras, and you will have to tweak the spec or the source
to get around that.

This should be safe from a security standpoint if you are the sole user
of your computer, and you have no internet facing services.

I don't know how to check copr builds, but maybe it has already been
built by someone else who needed it, and is available in copr.

Just for fun I decided to see if I could install this on F31.  I
downloaded the following binary packages from koji,

and installed them using
dnf -C install [package list]
in the directory they were in.  And it worked!  I don't know the
software well enough to check it, though. Should also work on F32.  I
think the issue is related to the degeneration of the Java stack in
Fedora.  If I had to guess, I would say that is happening because java
is more popular in enterprises than with individual users.

Many of the packages have lost maintainers, and because they failed to
build over time, have been orphaned.  That affects other packages that
use them as dependencies, that then fail to build.  Heroic efforts by
the orphan maintainers group have maintained it in a working state but
it has still lost functionality.  There was a recent (within the past
few months) thread on the fedora-devel list discussing this topic.

Guessing is not required.  Your are right.  Most individual users are
forced to adopt openJDK:

TL;DNR: Oracle changed the license so enterprise Java users pay for
updates.  There is openJDK, but Oracle JDK relies on some closed source
3rd party code that is missing in openJDK.  In practice, many existing Java
apps don't run as well (or at all) on openJDK.  Developers porting open
source codes to OpenJDK have focused on getting stuff working, performance
problems will be addressed later.

Scilab already uses openJDK (it needs a full JDK), but people are still
chasing bugs, so "your mileage may vary".   Wayland complicates things.
Eventually, wayland should simplify linux graphics support n openJDK by
making it easier to keep in step with Windows and macOS.  In the short
term, openJDK has needed a lot of work to support X11.   Meanwhile
RedHat did some work on Wayland for OpenJDK
<http://hg.openjdk.java.net/caciocavallo/ng,> that seems to have
been abandoned.

At present there is mostly usable wayland support in Eclipse.
I use software from ESA that does not work well using openJDK.
Work has started on a new version that will use a "to be determined"
free runtime.

I saw that but decided to go with the older version, as I was using
older versions of everything else, and had more likelihood of
compatibility with the older version.  And it has been the same version
for several years, just being rebuilt during mass rebuild of rawhide.
The sure sign of a package that is either no longer developed or no
longer maintained.  No longer developed or maintained doesn't mean it no
longer works, just that it is subject to failure if things around it
change because they are being developed and maintained.
