Two parts. In ~/.muttrc, put:
set from="Lux Zhang <yuanlux(a)gmail.com>"
And mutt really does require you to be running some form of Mail
Transport Agent, such as sendmail, locally. A minimal sendmail, with
a smarthost defined to point at your ISP's smtp server, is all you
need.
The latest mutt (1.5.16) does actually have a built-in MTA function if
it's selected at build time.
On sendmail, the easist way to do this is to set an outgoing server
in
/etc/mail/mailertable with a line such as:
. smtp:[smtp-server.your-isp.com]
and restart sendmail.
Thanks,
Matt
