Postfix w/ SASL

This is my Postfix.spec file,

..after compiling the RPM and installing I run postconf -m and this is the 
output,

How come SASL is not there?

Why would you expect it to be there?

lookup table types. In Postfix configuration files, lookup tables
               are specified as type:name, where type is one of the types listed below. 
The  table  name  syntax
               depends on the lookup table type as described in the DATABASE_README
document.

SASL is not a lookup table.

google for saslfinger if you want info on your sasl configuration.

Thanks for that, from the server output below it looks like SASL is ok, but 
I get this when I try and check ,

I enter,
sals2-sample-server -s rcmd -p 8000

..and I get,
trying 10, 1, 6
trying 2, 1, 6
bind: Address already in use
couldn't bind to any socket.

When I ran salsfinger and I think it looks ok, what do you think?

I do not remember enough about setting up SASL to comment accurately. Once
setup, it "just works" :-)

You might want to have a look at the docs here:
http://www.postfix.org/SASL_README.html

In addition the guys on the postfix list are real good at troubleshooting
sasl, provided you do your homework. By that I mean ask intelligent questions
and provide the information needed to allow them to help you.

Another real good source of documentation is "The book of postfix" 
by Hildebrandt and Koetter. http://www.postfix-book.com/

Yes, it costs money but it is worth it.

FWIW, P@trick Koetter routinely answers sasl questions.

On the Fedora(Core5) side, I want to build SASL support in.  Can it be done 
by building an RPM from an SRC file?  The instructions in the readme build 
from source...

Postfix shipping with FC5 is build against Cyrus-SASL version 2.

I re-compiled the Postfix SRC to add MySQL.

Do you know how I can add MySQL support to SASL?  Do I need to re-compile 
SASL, then re-compile Postfix?

yum install cyrus-sasl-sql

That is all what's needed to get the sql auxprop plugin with the mysql 
engine support. Of course you have to configure SASL accordingly to let 
it use a MySQL database with auth credentials.

No, yum install binary packages only and the Postfix binary package 
shipped with Fedora Core is compiled without MySQL support as the 
maintainer decided to keep it lighter (= without dependency for MySQL). 
I think to remember that an RFE in bugzilla for shipping Postfix with 
MySQL map support was answered in this way.
