You can unset the $record variable in your muttrc (perhaps even via
the -e option, I'm not sure):
unset record
That should keep mutt from trying to write the sent file and
requesting the lock.
Wish I could just get rid of NFS, but it owns me. Is there some
.muttrc setting I could tweak? man muttrc not unhelpful.
I don't find it unhelpful either. :)
