I had to back up one kernel release to get kmod-nvidia to work :-(.
The rpmfusion repos don't seem to have an akmod-nvidia package for fedora 24.

What do you mean?
[egreshko@meimei ~]$ rpm -q akmod-nvidia akmod-nvidia-358.16-2.fc24.x86_64

It wasn't there this morning. I cleaned metadata, I reinstalled the rpmfusion repos, dnf install kept telling me there is no akmod-nvidia package. Of course, now that I wanted to demonstrate that, dnf install is saying it is there :-).
In my defense, if you use the repo browser on the rpmfusion.org front page, there is no akmod-nvidia package showing up in the source rpms even now :-).

Well, considering the folks at rpmfusion have been putting up a new infrastructure it is possible they have mucked things up.
And, since you're talking about rpmfusion, maybe their lists would be a good place to bring up these issues.
