i am getting the same "oh no something went wrong.......logout n try again" msg
after installing vlc.
can any 1 give me solution to this. i really want to get it fixed.

Before logging back in, go to an alternate text console and check
.xsession-errors for messages. If you're lucky, there might be
something there to explain what happened. Personally, I've always
thought that whoever decided that this was an adequate and appropriate
error message should be taken out and shot. Never mind waiting until dawn.
BTW, I almost deleted your post unread because the lack of a subject
made me suspect it was spam. HTH, HAND.

Use Ctrl-Alt-F2 to get to a text console and log in. To get back to the
GUI screen use Ctrl-Alt-F8.

I have a doubt on this subject....if the error is before login, where
shall I get the .xsession-errors file???

isn't deleted when you log out. Thus, if you log into a text console

Interestingly, the first two functions shown work on PCLOS. Not sure
why you'd want to.

I had experienced this problem this morning after a month!!! but as it
happens before any login, let's say when boot procedure is completed but
before the login window, what shall I do to complete the debug?? (or
shall i wait F18 to make a clean install??)

As someone who's experienced my fair share of Fedora issues, my advice
would be to wait for Fedora 18 which will be available soon, the logic
behind this decision is: you will probably not experience the problem
you're having now......and you'll also have the chance to use something
that will be around for a while. Just my two cents...
