I believe you can edit the corresponding file for a connection under
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-<connection_name>
Not sure which field though. You can look at the contents of the
corresponding file after configuring a dummy static IP connection.
Thanks! It helps a lot. On a liveCD booted system, the file is named
ifcfg-Wired_connection_1 in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/
now I'll have to find if on the LiveCD the contents of
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts are decompressed during boot or
generated post-boot.
