Yes, making the cleaning on success a little more fine-grained is on my
todo list both for FC6 final and then also to backport to yum 2.6.x.
But as Rahul said, there are also apparently cases where even a
non-successful case is removing things -- or at least, that's what has
been reported :-)
the finer-grained addition is some pretty straightforward code.
If anyone would like to help out with yum development that's an easy way
to get your feet wet.
