I see this occasionally too. I've filed a bug report about it here:

Is this what you're seeing, or did the message actually fail to download
properly?
It looks like it just did did not download properly. I'll check
tomorrows update-report to see if it will be OK when I select other
messages, but iirc that was not the case.
