Redhat being well-funded brings into being the potential for attacks
that
would otherwise make no sense if it were someone else distributing
Fedora. So it seems to me reasonable they keep completely away from
anything inviting attack.
I'd want to think they keep away from propietary formats (and software with
murky legal status) as a matter of principle, not because they might get
sued otherwise...
