Why? Because of the laws in US? Isn't this similar to issue with
posting source code of DeCSS? Isn't that covered by the 1st amendment
and the freedom of speech?
Cheers,
Valent
.
Valent, because the Fedora Project is hosted, both in terms of software as
well as an organization in the US, US laws are in effect and must be
followed.
I understand that, and I understand that I can't expect fedora to have
mp3 decoder on their hosted servers but I thought you have freedom of
speech, no? Weren't there some court cases that said that you can
write anything? Is it illegal to put this on the fedora wiki:
"rpm -ivh
http://rpm.livna.org/livna-release-9.rpm"
or it I leave that line out is this illegal:
"yum install -y gstreamer-plugins-ugly gstreamer-plugins-bad"
Why?
Cheers,
Valent.
