Don't underestimate the complexity of the network startup scripts. There are
a lot of edge cases and weird conditions encoded the years of cruft that has
built up around the shell scripts and surely in networkmanager as well. I'm
sure networkd will handle the simple cases nicely, but experience indicates
that it'll be several years before all of the non-obvious problems get
ironed out -- things which looked trivial to deal with in the rewrite but
which actually have a gotcha
i did not said anything else
but to replace network.service on machines with one or two interface
and a static IP on them with no further magic it's the more lightweight
one than NetworkManager
