Hello,
I want to be able to "automate" a fc4 install but without pxe and kickstart. If I understand correctly, I should be able to make the boot cd with my ks.cfg at the root level of the cd and when I boot off the cd it should just "go" (asking for the rest of the cds as it progresses).
My first attempt at creating the bootdisk with the ks.cfg did not work. Here is what I did:
1. put the fc4 disk 1 in my linux box
2. cp -r <path-to-cd>/isolinux/ <path-to-workspace>
3. cd <path-to-workspace>
4. chmod u+w isolinux/*
5. cp ks.cfg to <path-to-workspace>/isolinux/
6. sudo mkisofs -o file.iso -b isolinux.bin boot.cat -no-emul-boot -boot-load-size 4 -boot-info-table -R -J -v -T isolinux/
7. burn the iso to a cd
8. boot my target computer from that boot cd
The target computer boots off the cd but does not seem to read the ks.cfg file as it asks me all the regular install questions instead of getting the answers from the ks.cfg file.
Is this the correct procedure?
thanks for your help. cj
Here is my ks.cfg file:
