FC10 / KDE I can't get a Broadcom 4306 wireless card working.
lsmod shows a b43legacy driver loading.
The firmware installed, b43-fwcutter-011-3.fc9.i386
This website shows different drivers , but I'm confused about which firmware is correct. http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Dr...devicefirmware http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Driversb43#devicefirmware

Obviously not the one you used. ;-)
You need to use a version 3 firmware and the new b43-fwcutter (not bcm43xx-fwcutter).

The b43-fwcutter-011-3.fc9 firmware is what I have installed, with the b43legacy driver.

Does /lib/firmware/b43legacy/ucode4.fw exist on your system?

PS: FYI, these are the general distro-independent instructions which build the b43-fwcutter from source. For Fedora, you just have to: su -c "yum install b43-fwcutter" wget http://downloads.openwrt.org/sources/wl_apsta-3.130.20.0.o su -c "b43-fwcutter -w /lib/firmware wl_apsta-3.130.20.0.o"

That's not the firmware, it's the tool which extracts it from the proprietary driver. You have to follow the instructions to get the actual firmware.

Yes now i have got it working, but the extractor, firmware thing was confusing me.
Thanks to all.
