Hello,
I cannot start properly a fedora 16 machine. Attached is the /var/log/message, in addition it does not start in graphic mode (no /var/log/X11.0.log file generated). I also tried to relabel and to run SELINUX=0
Thank.

Log files are discouraged on this list. And, if you do attach one and it is over a certain size it will be stripped. Look in the file and only include the relevant lines....or what you think are the relevant lines.
I take it that you can login in text mode. So, what happens if you type "startx" after login?
Also what is "ll /etc/systemd/system/default.target" showing.
Hello,
OK,
There are 5 services which fail: iscsi mdmonitor nfs-secure-server smb webmin
I guess that the main issue is due to nfs-secure-server that I cannot start: nfs-secure-server.service - Secure NFS Server Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/nfs-secure-server.service; enabled) Active: failed since Sat, 11 Aug 2012 11:13:07 +0200; 57s ago Process: 1884 ExecStart=/usr/sbin/rpc.svcgssd $RPCSVCGSSDARGS (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE) CGroup: name=systemd:/system/nfs-secure-server.service
startx just freezes the machine forever.
Up tp now, google did not help me.
Thank

Are you actually using those services? If not, then disable them. Especially the last 3, at least for now.
You didn't list the output of "ll /etc/systemd/system/default.target".
What is your video hardware? If nVidia, your using the standard nouveau driver?

Of course that should read "If nVidia, you're using the standard nouveau driver?"
As an aside, I don't believe "webmin" has been packaged for Fedora. So, that would be unsupported.

It is an intel card 82Q963/Q965
Yes it looks like that the nouveau driver are installed.

OK, I misinterpreted what you'd written earlier.

Yes it looks like that the nouveau driver are installed.
Well, of course nouveau is installed. But it won't be used on Intel hardware. I don't know what driver is used for that hardware. There may be a magic boot parameter which may be of help. But, I'm not in a situation to check at the moment.

xrandr -q says cannot display I am using xorg-x11-drv-intel-2.19.0.3.fc16.x86_64

Well, you did say that startx didn't work. It hung forever. Right?
So X isn't running and therefore xrandr would not find a display. As I mentioned, there may be a kernel parameter which may help. Just not in a position to check what that may be.

Try booting your system with the nomodset kernel parameter set.

Thank.
But it does not help.
