Bonjour,
What is freetype2? I'm fighting with this on google and mostly find freetype-2
I found some freetype2 rpm from Suse but when I tried to install there was a conflict with /usr/lib64/libfreetype.so.6.3.10 coming from package freetype-2.2.1-16.fc6.x86_64
I need these package (freetype2 and freetype2-devel) to rebuild xdvipdfmx and install xetex on my system....
Is there a typo in xdvipdfmx-0.3.spec or freetype2* is really different from freetype-2*

Have you tried just doing
yum install freetype freetype-devel
If you are using a graphical desktop then you probably have freetype install and you are just missing freetype-devel.
Don't try and install versions from any other distribution....

Did it:
Reading repository metadata in from local files Parsing package install arguments Nothing to do
Don't try and install versions from any other distribution....
I try to, but it is not easy sometimes: how can I install xetex? tetex is now outdated.... and fedora did not take this into account!
my question was: what is freetype2? is it different from freetype-2 installed on fc6?

It's a package for some other distro that uses different naming conventions (you mentioned SuSE).
is it different from freetype-2 installed on fc6?
Probably there's no difference in functionality.
Why am I unable to compile xdvipdfmx needed by xetex?
If the problem is with .spec file dependencies, simply edit the .spec file to use Fedora package names.
