I use fedora 17 64 bit and my firefox version is 12.0. Java applets are not run in firefox. I have icedtea-web installed and following are the content of my /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugin/

Seem like an error in the way the .class file was compiled.

Seems like something is going wrong during applet loading. Can you please:
1. Close all firefox instances
2. Open a terminal and run: 'ICEDTEAPLUGIN_DEBUG=true firefox 2>&1 | tee /tmp/console.log'
3. Post /tmp/console.log, ~/.icedtea/log/java.stderr and ~/.icedtea/log/java.stdout somewhere (or send them to me via a reply to this message)

It was almost certainly because the username stayed the same and the UID changed. I'd say it is extremely rare that others would run into it.
