This is a better target that fedora-devel-list (which is for Fedora
developers), but it is not a Fedora-specific question. A google on "ssh
chroot" shows lots of interesting links. A couple of promising ones:
http://debian.chains.ch/chroot/chroot.html
http://www.brandonhutchinson.com/chroot_ssh.html

Development kernel rpm sizes?
by Bruno Wolff III
I was looking at grabbing another copy of the development kernel to try out
and noticed that the rpms are much larger (several over 90MB) than they
were previously. Is this just something special with that particular
development version or is this going to be normal for the future?

If your systems clock is set UTC (like mine), then you will need to copy
/etc/localtime to bind's chroot'd etc directory to fix the time offset
problem you describe. i.e /var/named/chroot/etc
FWIW: I've had to do this since RH9.

FC2 freeze on splash screen [PARTIALLY SOLVED]
by Roger Grosswiler
Hi,
Each time, if i try to logout, my system freezes. If i power down and restart, X freezes completely, so i have to
disconnect from power to restart.
So, i got up my system again, an could check the logs, where i found the following (sorry, is translated, my system is
in germand):

...strange...could anyone of these making this? And why can't i no longer just do logout?
Thanks for any help!
Roger
So, i deactivated smb/winbind-authentication, since then, X freezes no longer on the splash-screen. But it is my goal,
to authenticate against one single source...
btw. i still cannot logout...system begins to shutdown for a few seconds, but stops afterwards this process. Then, i
cannot use anylonger the mouse, but Alt+F1 also opens the menues. No further application to get started. Have to power
off and restart.

APT Repository for Fedora Extras?
by Gordon Keehn
I've gathered from this forum that apt, synaptic, and (I assume) a
bunch of other good stuff, is available in the Fedora Extras collection.
Is there an APT Repository containing Core 1 versions of these
packages? I installed apt and synaptic from RPMs pulled from
ayo.freshrpms.net. I added the lines for extras from the sample on the
freshrpms site, to my sources.list file, but I get warning messages from
both apt and synaptic suggesting that the "extras" repository isn't. (I
don't have the text of the messages, as this is all happening on one of
my home PCs, and at the moment I'm at work.)
Is there a repository I can use to keep apt and synaptic current,
and to install other tools from the "extras" collection?
Cheers,
Gordon keehn

mozilla mail faded text
by Richard E Miles
I am using mozilla mail to view my mail. I am recieving the digest
fedora-list mail. The mail seems to be presented in faded text for
signature portions and in some cases the header and subsequent message
body text also. It returns to normal when a quoted section occurs but
will go faded again when it hits a signature.
Is there a setting I can set to stop this faded behavior? I have tried
all kinds of character coding settings but nothing seems to change. It
would seem there must be some setting that I am missing to prevent this
behavior.
Any help would be appreciated.
