Acroread Plugin vs. Fedora-8 and Firefox-2
by Jonathan Ryshpan
When a PDF page is displayed via the Acroread plugin in Firefox, the
(sub) window containing the displayed PDF info never gets focus. This
makes it impossible, among other things, to search the PDF using the
Acroread search function. If I save the PDF to a file and then display
it using acroread, the window gets focus in the normal way and search
works perfectly.
What is going on? How can this be fixed?
Thanks - jon

Sorta OT - Cheap certificate authority?
by thomas cameron
Hey All -
I am setting up a project for a buddy on a shoe-string budget and we
need a site protected by SSL. Self-signed won't cut it. I looked at
Verisign and to get a basic SSL cert from them is going to cost more
than the whole hardware budget for the project!
Anyone have any recommendations for a cheap CA? Is there such a thing?
To put this on-topic, it will be hosted on a Fedora box. :-)
Cheers!

Can the automounting of LVM volumes be dangerous in any way?
by Antonio Olivares
Dear all,
I have a question regarding the automounting of LVM volumes like it is the default Fedora installation. Is there any way that it is harmful when done from a linux live cd?
For instance in Slax, Tomas Matejicek, the creator of slax has been encouraged by me and others to implement it in Slax. I believe it is an excellent idea. I was wondering if there are any downnsides to having this done in this livecd or any livecd for that matter.
Thank you in advance for your input regarding this matter.
Regards,
Antonio

kmail hangs
by korgull
Hi,
I have some problems with kmail.
Basically it just hangs when :
1) just after waiting some time (not touching a thing)
2) going to Settings->configure kmail->Accounts.
3) When I start kmail and just let it sit there, sometimes it wil receive
mail, but when I click the "check mail in" button it will hang.
It only happens on this specific user account so I guess it's setting related
or the extremely large mail box may cause issues.
Anyone knows a solution ?
regards,
Marcel

Creating a default keyring with passwd.
by Aaron Konstam
One of the problems with reinstalling Fedora every 6 months is I can't
remember what I did before but I know I never had this problem before.
On anew installation I configured evolution. When I tried to run it it
asked for the POP passwd then wanted to know the passwd to open the
default keyring. But I am lost in remembering how to do this. I know it
must of happened in earlier versions but I am drawing a blank on what to
do to resolve this.
I need advice.
