F11 preview on HP pavilion a375c
by Don Russell
I did a clean network install of F11 preview on this machine, hoping to be
able to use the "multi media card reader" gizmo which accepts memory stick,
sd cards etc.
When I insert a memory stick, the little blue light comes on at the front
panel, but how do I get Linux to recognize it as a drive (or whatever) so I
can drag/drop files to/from it?
Do I have to mount it? How do I know what the device it to mount?
Thanks
Also, I've come across some other problems (small bugs)... what's the best
way to file those?

ssh / xauth problem - maybe yum update related
by Gary Stainburn
Hi folks.
I've got my Dell laptop, which I still haven't got working properly.
However, I've got a new problem with it.
Now, when I try to ssh onto one of my servers I get the output shown below.
Also, when I try to use shell completion etc (e.g., tab to complete
filenames) instead if working properly, it just insert a tab into the
command.
Anyone know what I have to fix?

live boot networking question
by David L
I have a fedora live USB stick that I want to be able to boot in
a co-worker's laptop so they can run a Linux app on their
Windows system. The app talks to an embedded device
through wired ethernet, so I need to set a static IP address
of the wired ethernet device. Is there a way to do this since
the wired hardware device will be different on different computers?
On one co-worker's system, wired ethernet came up as eth0.
On another, it came up as eth2. We don't have a DHCP server
in the embedded device, so I have to assign a static address.
Thanks,
David

F9 "/usr/bin/java is not owned by any package" - huh?
by David
Newbie question: I'm surprised by the rpm -qf response: "file
/usr/bin/java is not owned by any package" below.
Is it a bug? Should I report it? Where?
Or am I missing something?
I'm on dialup so I don't have the latest version of everything. If you
do, is it the same on your system?
Currently I have zero knowledge of java, I just want to try freemind re:
