Fedora 18
Does anyone know where I can get a working google-earth-stable.i386, one
that won't conflict with Fedora ?

Perplexed
by Roger
I just now used Fedup to update Fedora 18 to 19. It did it's thing
quickly and efficiently and awaited a reboot.
I have both Ubuntu and Fedora on the hard drive. It boots to the Ubuntu
grub from which I select the Fedora install.
I selected Fedora spherical cow from the Ubuntu grub.
It booted to the familiar Fedora 18 and stayed there, everything works
as previously but I have no idea whether it performed the update, as it
says in the Fedora Fedup page.
I did see a very brief flash of what looked like an SELinux error message.
There are no messages in SELinux alerts.
What should I be looking for to resolve the upgrade please?
Thanks
Roger

Need help installing 19
by Frank McCormick
I would like some help/opinions installing Fedora 19 on a new computer
which came with Windows 7 installed.
I have shrunk the Windows partition to 40 gigs ( it's an 80 gig hd) and now
have 4 partitions, two devoted to Windows and two empty ones...I plan to
put Fedora
in one of them.
Windows still boots fine after Gparted did it's work on the partitions.
Windows
chkdsk facility did check the installation after the partition re-sizing but
everything was fine.
I formatted the empty partitions with ext4, so the installation should
be easy.
The thing I am concerned about is Grub - has anybody had problems
booting Windows after a Linux distruibution and Grub was installed ?
Any advice ??
Thanks

What happened to floppy drive support?
by n2xssvv.g02gfr12930
I've been using a floppy boot disk as reserve if my HD boot fails, But
it appears floppy support as now been removed. Why? Then how can I
create an emergency media that is flexible enough to be updated as required?

FC19 Battery 'remaining time' extension in gnome 3 gone?
by Bill Murray
Hello all,
In FC18 I used a nice gnome 3 extension which showed the remaining
batter time on my laptop.
This allowed remedial action if I accidentally did something stupid like
turn the screen on max.
It is marked 'outdated' in FC19, but I don't see a replacement. Does
anyone know where I can
get such functionality?
Thanks,
Bill

cron DELAY
by SternData
Since F19, the following have appeared in my daily logwatch:
--------------------- Cron Begin ------------------------
**Unmatched Entries**
INFO (RANDOM_DELAY will be scaled with factor 37% if used.)
INFO (RANDOM_DELAY will be scaled with factor 4% if used.)
---------------------- Cron End -------------------------
What is the RANDOM_DELAY? I have a number of lines in crontab, all of
which seem to be kicking off at the correct times.

Interpreting Yum Dependency Error

Seems like a rev number is missing in this dependency error from Yum:

Error: Package: simspark-0.2.4-1.fc18.i686 (updates)
Requires: ruby(release)
References to "ruby(release)" seem incomplete. Does this suggest a
config error somewhere? rpm says ruby-1.9.3.429-30.fc18.i68 is installed.
