spice: connection refused
by sean darcy
I'm trying to connect to a windows guest on an F19 host from an F19 client.
remote-viewer spice://10.10.11.100:5972
(remote-viewer:19994): GSpice-WARNING **: Could not connect to
10.10.11.100: Connection refused
xml for the guest has:
<graphics type='spice' port='5972' autoport='no'/>
Not sure how you troubleshoot this. I can ssh into the host, and connect
to the guest with vnc.
Any help appreciated.

How can I turn off Airplane Icon on Desktop System?
by Schlaegel
I have a desktop system with both wired and wireless adapters on the
motherboard.
I keep the Wireless set to off.
A network icon shows as an Airplane in the upper right of Gnome.
I can turn off Airplane mode, and the icon goes away until the next boot.
How can I make the Airplane mode icon stay off through reboots, yet keep
the network adapter off?

Broken nouveau KMS
by Christopher Thielen
Hi fedora-users,
I think I broke my Fedora 20 Nouveau KMS when I tried out the nVidia driver.
My grub boot menu has three kernel entries and only the oldest of the
three boots with the graphical loader and has X using the Nouveau
driver. The two newer ones boot with the text-based progress bar and
wind up with X loading the VESA driver.
I cannot figure out how to fix the newer kernel entries in grub to
repair my Nouveau graphical boot.
Here's my /boot/grub2/grub.cfg, the entry "Fedora, with Linux
3.12.8-300.fc20.x86_64" boots graphically while the two above it do not.
I very much appreciate any help in the matter!

Evolution not deleting emails
by Mike Chambers
Anyone else having issues with evolution not automatically removing mail
from the Junk folder on exit, even though it's checked to remove it? Seems
this has been the case during F20 and F19 and recent versions of evolution.
It also doesn't seem to remove my emails from trash folder as well, and
that one is marked to be removed.

Unit to run as soon as possible after screen mode set?
by Tom Horsley
A lot of video drivers, for sure the Intel ones, set up this
stoopid "limited range" RGB output by default, which leaves
my TV looking like it has a thin layer of gauze in front
of it.
I've finally dug up some pointers to some magic intel_write_reg
commands I can run to convince the low level intel driver
to switch back to full range RGB, and I'd like to run them
very very early in the boot process so my screen is readable
even while scrolling boot messages or if I boot in console
mode without starting X.
Anyone know a good place to wedge in a script to run
as soon as possible after the kernel video mode setting
has happened?
P.S. I've been trying to find a way to disable this
limited range nonsense by overriding the EDID info
(which I have to do anyway to convince gnome I don't
have a super high res screen that needs 500 point
characters :-), but there doesn't seem to be anything
in the EDID to trigger this.

Installing Fedora 20 on Windows 8.1 HD
by L.G.
Hi all.
After the answers about "Fedora 20 Installation Problem" which I have got, I have created a Live USB using LiveUSB Creator. After that, I have started my Sony Vaio SVE1512Y1ESI notebook (which was already installed Windows 8.1 on) from my USB and I have be able to install this OS at last. At this point I have restart my PC to access Windows partition and, much to my surprise, it has appear a kernel error message on the screen. That's why I have had to restore previous situation to be able to access again that partition.
What do you suggest I should do to avoid this problem befall again? I express my early thanks to people who will know to give me an answer.
PS: below I quote what it appear on the screen when I select "Windows Boot" item
/EndEntire
filepath: /ACPI(a0341d0,0)/PCI(2,1f)/UnknownMessagIng(12)/
/File(bootmgfw.efi)/EndEntIre
error: cannot load image
error: you need to load the kernel first

NetworkManager control of bridges
by Paul Knox-Kennedy
Since F20 Beta, I have been running my bridge under NM control without
too much trauma, but on Tuesday, it stopped working. A few other users
seemed to have an issue at the same time, and resolved it by deleting
all NM connections and re-adding them. This is still not working for me.
At the moment, NM fails to bring up my network on boot every time.
However, if I log in as root and run systemctl restart NetworkManager,
everything comes up correctly.
I have pasted the output of systemctl status NetworkManager after the
reboot, and after the restart here: http://ur1.ca/gmj61. At line 48, the
bridge fails due to a timeout on reboot. On the nm restart, everything
comes up cleanly.
Can anyone tell me where to look next?
Thanks
Paul
