Most archive managers will open an iso file as well. Booting a live
usb/dvd would allow for exploring.
To be certain:
mount -o loop -t iso9660 /path/to/file.iso /desired/mountpoint
The "-t iso9660" ensures a CDROM-style FS is used. It should autodetect
it, but "belt and suspenders" is never a bad idea.
