then 1600x900 is NOT the native resoltuion of your monitor
LCD/LED displays ar ewokrin gonly IN ONE resolution with acceptable quality
According to the documentation with the monitor, the monitor is
1600x900, plus all 3 operating systems (Win8, Fedora and Ubuntu) on this
machine all automatically selected 1600x900 as the operating resolution
for the monitor on the first boot after installing it.
