How do I go about switching to a different sound theme?
Gnome's control center only lets me choose one of four lame sounds from /usr/share/sounds/gnome/default/alerts.
I have a whole bunch of complete sound themes in /usr/share/sounds, but I can't figure out how to use them in F18.
i use kde, but i imagine same should work for gnome.
have you considered coping or linking your 'sounds' files to the 'alert' directory?
Yeah, I considered it.
I mean, manually hacking it, like this, is a no-brainer.
But, it's rather depressing that I have to resort to this kind of crap.
