Ctrl-Alt-Backspace doesn,t work and if you haven't a reset button on the computer,
pull the plug.
It may take a while to reboot.
Ssh to the machine as a normal user, sudo reboot. (This is assuming the network is
running.)
Other than that, I know of no other way.
