Appletalk is Apple's old home networking protocol. It's not used very much anymore.

What is appletalk and netatalk? What do they do?
Netatalk is used to set up a Linux box to appear as an Apple file and print server. In my case we needed a way to copy data from OS 9 servers to a Linux box, which is backed up nightly using Bacula.
Does it handle resource forks properly? We'd like to do that, but I've not yet identified how to test it.
