WRT Sun's Java, you know that Karl won't know that answer but I do.
The answer is here...
https://jdk-distros.dev.java.net/
which of course still begs the issue of their license which is
restrictive.
They provide the whole package or just the 'free' part? It has been a
long time since I read Sun's Java license but I seem to remember that
you could not do that.
nVidia is of course, a horse of another color since only binaries
exist
and there is no source to study at all.
Which was pretty much my point there. Good (bad?) way to stick something
evil into your distribution. ;-) And it does not have to be evil. Maybe
it just does not work well. Or at all. So how do you fix it? You can't.
