No, fails. (Oh, no. Something ...)
Only the root account can start a gnome session iniated by lightdm.
Check the output of `journalctl -b /usr/bin/gnome-session` as root. Also
/var/log/Xorg.0.log (it's /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old if you have restarted
the X server by e.g. clicking the logout button on the "ho, no" screen).
Hi Ahmad, thank you for the hint. "journalctl -b /usr/bin/gnome-session"
produced a lot of output. No error msg in /var/log/Xorg.0.log.
